About Align Counseling in The Woodlands and Taylor’s Journey as a Therapist
How I did it
My journey
2022
The year I decided to become a therapist
This was the year I wrapped up my undergrad in psychology at the University of Texas at Austin and decided to take the leap into a master’s program in clinical mental health counseling.
It was also when I started my own therapy journey to understand myself better and get a feel for what it might be like for my clients. I wanted to know what it truly feels like to sit in the other chair—and that experience made me even more committed to helping others.
Finishing my master’s degree was such an exciting milestone, especially because it was essential to becoming a therapist in Texas.
Along the way, I got hands-on experience working in private practice and with foster youth, offering skills training and advocacy. It was a time of figuring out what it really takes to support people through their struggles and what kind of therapist I wanted to be.

2025
The year I became a therapist & private practice owner
This year was kind of a dream come true. I officially became a therapist in Texas and finally launched my private practice. It’s something I’ve been working toward for a long time, and there’s nothing like the feeling of creating a space where I can help people on their own journeys to healing and growth.

Taylor is strong in all areas. It starts with her strong sense of self and her willingness to apply what she learns to her own life. She is an example to others.
She is a self-starter and doesn’t wait to volunteer, create a plan, or respectfully share her ideas. Taylor is creative in her approaches to helping her clients.
Her teen group preparation and planning will be a model for future counselors. It is one of the best I have ever seen, and the client feedback is positive.
