Where Words Run Out, Play Begins

I work with kiddos, teens, young adults, parents, and families. I'm a person-centered counselor, which to me means you're the expert on your own life. We work collaboratively, build goals around your values and what you actually need, and I meet all of it with empathy instead of judgment. We move at your pace. Always.
With kids, play is the language. When a child can't find the words, they'll tell you in how they play, so a lot of my work happens through activities that are fun and let them communicate what they can't yet put into sentences. I came to this from the classroom: I was a theatre and art teacher, and I'm an artist myself, so my sessions tend to be creative and hands-on. I want a child to walk into our special playroom and feel like it's a place where they can finally say and do the things they've been holding in.
With families and couples, I focus on the communication patterns underneath the conflict. I believe every strong relationship sits on a foundation of friendship and real care for each other, and I'm trained in the Gottman Method to help partners and families find their way back to that. Two things can usually be true at once, and a lot of the work is making room for both. Mostly, I hope you leave with a little more grace for yourself than you walked in with.
Currently accepting new clients in Montgomery, TX and virtually across Texas.

How I Work
What every session is
built on
Play Is the Language
When a kid can't find the words, they'll show you in how they play. A lot of our work happens through activities that are fun and let children say what they can't yet put into sentences.
You're the Expert
I'm person-centered, which means you're the expert on your own life. We work collaboratively and build goals around your values and what you actually need.
We Move at Your Pace
No one gets pushed to open up before they're ready. We go at your pace, every time, and I'll gently name what I notice along the way.
Friendship at the Base
Strong relationships rest on friendship and real care. With families and couples, I focus on the communication patterns underneath the conflict, drawing on the Gottman Method.
Who I Work With
Care for the whole
family system
Children
A child who's feeling down, worried, or out of control. Through play and creative activities, we give those big feelings somewhere to go.
Teens & Young Adults
A teen feeling anxious, alone, or down on themselves, or a young adult facing a hard transition. A relatable, judgment-free space to work it out.
Families & Couples
A family that loves each other but feels stuck, or partners who want to talk without it turning into a fight. Gottman-informed work to rebuild communication and connection.
My Path
How I got here
Finished my psychology degree
I earned my B.A. in Psychology from Texas Tech University and started seriously thinking about how I wanted to spend my career around kids and families.
The classroom taught me first
Before counseling, I taught theatre and art. Being in the room with kids every day showed me how much they carry, and how much it matters to have one adult who really sees them.
Training & specializing
I earned my play therapy certification at Sam Houston State University and trained in the Gottman Method for couples. I'm now working toward becoming a Registered Play Therapist, and growing my work in body image and eating-disorder support.
Joining Align Counseling
I'm bringing creative, play-based care to families in Montgomery, TX, and I'm currently accepting new clients.
