Play Therapy & Child Counseling
What Play Therapy Is
Not just "playing."
Play therapy is a recognized, evidence-based approach to child mental health, not supervised playtime. Through toys, art, and guided activities, a trained play therapist helps children process feelings and experiences they don't yet have the language for.
Children communicate naturally through play the way adults communicate through conversation. A skilled play therapist reads that communication and uses it therapeutically, helping a child work through grief, anxiety, behavioral struggles, or family transitions at a pace and in a language that actually makes sense to them.
Trained, Not Just Interested
A background built
specifically for this
Madison earned her play therapy certification at Sam Houston State University and is working toward her Registered Play Therapist credential. Before counseling, she was a theatre and art teacher, so her sessions are naturally creative, hands-on, and built around how kids actually express themselves. Play therapy isn't a technique she picked up along the way. It's the thing she trained specifically to do well.
